About XVII in Review

XVII in Review is an independent editorial site about a single sneaker: the Air Jordan XVII, the 2002 model that arrived in a metal briefcase with a CD-ROM, carried a then-unheard-of $200 price tag, and accompanied Michael Jordan through his Washington Wizards years.

Most sneaker sites cover everything and therefore cover nothing deeply. We went the other way. One model, examined properly: honest reviews of how the XVII fits, feels, and holds up; the design story behind its jazz-inspired lines; the context of its luxury positioning; and the general shape of its retro history. If it isn’t about the Air Jordan XVII, we don’t publish it.

How we write reviews

• Honest, not promotional. We say what the shoe does well and where it shows its age. A $200 launch price in 2002 deserves scrutiny, not nostalgia-only coverage.
• Grounded, not invented. Where release details, dates, or prices are uncertain, we generalize or say so rather than guessing. Sneaker history is full of confidently repeated errors; we try not to add to them.
• Nothing is for sale here. We do not sell sneakers, list products, take affiliate commissions, or link out to shops. We have no stake in whether you buy a pair, which is exactly what lets the reviews stay honest.
